EuroClass Reunion
Pictures are available on facebook in the "Silkeborg Hojskole" group.
Every November Silkeborg Hojskole hold a re-union for all former students to invade the hojskole once again for crazy parties, bands, dancing, games and a little flavour of hojskole again.
The program starts on Friday night with a cosy evening in the living room, which has every seat taken, students sitting on the floor and some standing, all singing along to their favourite hojskole songs. Its usually a late night with some partying already in the cafe, some staying in the living in large groups catching up, and others finding quieter corners to enjoy little chats and gossip!
Saturday starts early with morning assembly, followed by Hojskole in an hour, where the EuroClass teams gather from all years and enjoy a little game, cosiness, funny stories and experiences with each other.
The students association hold a meeting before lunch, and after lunch guest speakers bring some reflection before the swimming pool is open and hundreds of students jump in, playing and swimming in the hojskoles pools.
Each year group is given a task to help prepare for the evening banquet, and everyone dresses up for a huge meal held in the sports hall with entertainment provided by teachers and students alike. EuroClass of course led the way, being the first to enter to the stage with paradies of popular songs which had their lyrics changed to reflect EuroClass.
The performance was definately one of the most enjoyed of the evening, with raptuous applase and cheers throughout.
Afterwards two venues hold musical events through the night until 1am, one with former students bands and more jazz style music, with "The Drunken Son's of Rock and Roll" headlining, and the other with a professional band playing great dancing tunes. At 1an the cafe opens for the serious party animals, and doesn't close until the last person leaves!
Sundays start is Brunch (a mixture between breakfast and lunch) which finishes at 11am, followed by a reflective service. Everyone usually leaves on the school bus, which makes a very crowded run to the train station at 1pm. |
