Hello from Baha and Davis!!
So we have the honor to tell you about our beautiful trip to Amsterdam!
All of us – Euroclass and India group, were living in the centre of the Red Light District. First, all the people checked in the hostel with all the huge bags, then we were climbing up the narrow stairs to our room, 5min later we found ourselves in the huge room with 20 people, boys and girls mixed together, but that wasn’t for long time..5min after that we found ourselves in the 10x times smaller room, with 8 boys and Captain Morten, we had a beautiful view of the canals and the city.
In the morning we had a very unusual breakfast in the hostel, while we were eating, other people from the hostel were smoking a joint! (as you know it’s legal to smoke marijuana in Amsterdam). But there are special places for smoking weed named – coffee shop. Actually, from the outside you can’t tell the difference between the normal café and the coffee shop. Like in the normal cafés you also have a menu with all kinds of things that you can choose to eat, but the difference is that you can have legal stuff to smoke as well.
Amsterdam is a bike city, where people use bikes instead of cars, because the streets are narrow and not so suitable to drive cars in! It makes the city cozy to live!
The city also has many canals and you can go on a canal tour, where a little boat takes you around to historical places of Amsterdam. But from our opinion, it’s much more interesting to discover the city afoot.
This pretty city (with its canals, bikes and narrow houses) is going to change at night to a crazy nightlife place with tourists even in the Red Light District. At night there are much more people than during daytime, even the tourist groups are exploring Amsterdam just before midnight.
Surprising for us was the citizens of Amsterdam who are living in the Red Light District, every evening they have to stand the noise of tourists and nightlife lovers, but they seem to be okay with the lifestyle.
After visiting the Amsterdam we understood that all the unusual things in the world are so normal in this city.
We hope that you enjoyed this short report from us.
