We went to The Hague to visit a place with the mysterious name ICTY.

Our Introduction to this fantastic city started with lunch on the beach. Sunbathing, relaxing, eating pancakes, enjoying life, some of us even dared to swim in the North Sea in the end of March!

After a wile we got to the ICTY building. And first challenge was to learn the real name of this place, International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

After all security controls we finally got into a small room. We had the possibility to attend a trial. It was a bit hard to follow since not many of us are used to law matters. But our visit wasn't finished. After a general briefing a danish judge agreed to talk to us. And this part of our visit was fantastically interesting. The judge was very professional and in the same time very personal, he told us a lot about his experience in this court and could it explain it in a way that we as laities could understand it. He raised some really complicated questions. What is justice? What is to judge other people? How can be punished people who murdered thousands of people? Where are the answers?

We were really inspired after talking to this man and we got a lot of things in our heads to think about now.
