Voluntary stay at FFD
Bahadir and I were working for the Organisation of Danish Folk High Schools for two wonderful weeks. FFD develops and maintains political and professional relations with the Government and partners, both at the national and international levels.
The aim of FFD is to work for the idea of the folk high school and to create good and free conditions for developing this type of school. The headquarters of FFD is situated in the middle of Copenhagen, five minutes from the city hall. Our boss was Torleif, who is the chairman of the international department of FFD.
After a day off (when we visited the city) we had to work "very hard”. We had two appointments:
1. to make a report about the English websites of Danish folk high schools,
2. to participate and help to arrange the International Cultural Meeting in Vallekilde HØjskole.
Cultural Meeting was an event for European and Danish folk high school, October 26-28, gathering close to 100 students from 8 schools representing 12 countries. The purpose was that more than 20% of the students at the Danish Folk Schools originates from other European countries, therefore it would be a great idea if the danish folk high schools could be generator of networks between students all over Europe. So we tried to make Europe a better place especially for young people. If you want to get more information check www.mitfahrzentral.eu.
I would like to say thank you for the kind collegues in FFD and for the nice weekend in Vallekilde.
