Prague I

After Berlin we headed towards "sunny" Prague. On the way we made a small visit to the “church of our lady” in Dresden, had a picnic on our "home on wheels" or a minibus and arrived to Prague in the evening. Due to our guide Filip, from Czech, we managed to get lost in the city center as it is much different to go on foot where you have access to everywhere. With a car it's obvious that it's not allowed to drive in the main square. People where tired and hungry, but after Morten turned the city map the right way around we found our cute hostel, which was more like an apartment with  a big ceiling, TV and our own kitchen.

Everybody felt relieved, but we didn't have a time to rest yet as we decided to go for a walk in the center .

Prague is so pretty with it's old buildings that look fairytaleish, covered with lights and you can almost  feel warm wine  everywhere coming from the restaurants where we could see the whole Prague. It looked very cosmopolitan and middle age like at the same time.

After some photo session, with the city lights behind us we headed to our cozy hostel, had a beer and after that slept like babies.

Besides that we visited famous bridges and churches and because it was a national day there where some marches and parades going on, but me and some others decided to get some tea, cause we looked like some fishes walking around, soaked and shivering through the pouring rain.

In the evening we went to Laterna Magica, performance house with mixed art. We saw a play , if I can say like that, which was very light comedy , but nicely mixed together with cinema and dance . Personally I love being in theatre, so it was a small energy shot I needed after some crazy historical museums and places we have been visiting during our trip.

We tried to look for a bar after that, but as we knew nothing about the city and everybody were pretty broke, we bought some lemonade and candy and headed back. Had some interesting discussions and Pingu cartoon sessions and again to bed.

The mornings  were definitely most difficult for me, 7 girls in the same room. Which means 7 alarms, sometimes double, and then of course one bathroom! That really didn't bothered anyone anymore, cause Ann and Olja where too nice to make breakfast for us. Pancakes with fake nutella (but maybe tasted even better) and jam and bananaanananas.

After maybe way too many pancakes we headed to a  National Museum. It was nice to be inside, cause it was pouring rain outside. There was reasonably ( ;) ) nice exhibition about Czech history and culture, besides that  some mammoths and minerals where laying around the museum where you could get a clear view about the nature, mostly in czech though.

The day past quickly, while counting the raindrops. In the evening we managed to find a real czech bar, with dumplings and some breaded beer.

Either way people seamed pretty full afterwards and we rolled ourselves back to where we came from.

I'm happy we left Prague for last on our trip, as it was maybe the most interesting place, despite of the rain and tiredness we had inside.

The day after we headed back home to Silkeborg.. Which took us only some hours. Hehee...

Home sweet home.
