EuroClass is the opportunity to challenge yourself in many different ways. A class where you can discover your weaknesses and strengths. We learn and try to work together as much as possible within projects and other activities about youth work. We share our opinions and discover new ways to think about different subjects. The stay in the Hojskole is a moment to stand still and live a new adventure in your life. EuroClass and the school are places to meet a lot of different people and learn about other cultures.

So, what is this Euroclass about?
It´s an meeting people from all over the Europe with different background, religion, values and opinions. But what does it mean for you to be part of this? The main task for people attending EC is to make in this huge mess a bit system. Sometimes it goes better, sometimes you are completely lost.
The more you know people in your class, more you are able to understand the codes they are speaking in and closer you are to unkind the big international Gordian knot. The more effort you are putting in it, the more you can gain. Sometimes you feel that you have to start all over, but THATS ALL PART OF THE EXPERIENCE. But at the end you will hopefully have the feeling that it was worthy. That you came to learn about the other cultures but the most you leaner about yourself. And that's what´s Euroclass for me...

EuroClass for me defines: freedom, possibilities, challenges, opportunities, frustrations and the best time ever! All this experiences are combined in a way, that you can not separate one from the other, they arise together from the first hours of your hojskole stay, and they don't disappear until the very end.
I know that because of it I learned a lot about myself and people in general.

EuroClass gave me possibility to meet different people and to know them better. After some months spent together I feel what I had "life university" even if I haven't got any theoretical knowledge. My main purpose before coming to Euroclass and to Silkeborg Hojskole was to improve english language and to feel more free in communication between people from international environment.

In the autumn I got a suggestion to go for studying to Denmark Silkeborg Hoeskole and I decided that it would be great possibility to take a break from my normal life and visit new country, learn in Euro Class many different things. So without big thinking I went there. In Euro Class I met many nice people from different countries and we started to study. It was really new for me because I wasn’t a member of any organization, I didn’t have any experience about leadership, team building and others similar things. So I enjoyed all new tasks, games, theory and practical skills. Also I got a great experience during many different projects with children, working in teams, discussions. For me it was also a big challenge to come here because I was afraid to speak English, I felt not really good about that. But after all these courses I can easily speak English in front of many people without big fair. So I think that Euro Class is really good place to learn new things, get practice during different projects and deal with all your fairs.

This half an year was my first and the longest time what I spent far away from my own country, but it was a really great and intensive experience for me. Sometimes it was so difficult, because I didn’t know any English in the beginning, but now I can say, that it was a really good decision to come to Silkeborg Hojskole, and of course to EuroClass. I learned here a lot about different cultures, more tolerance between each other, how to make interesting projects for children, and a lot of English as well. During this half an year I developed in my personality very much, and maybe this is the most important value for me. The people with who I met here, all of them are very great, and they helped a lot for me, and the teacher as well. I liked much EuroClass, but sometimes I didn’t really know what is happening, what is going on around me, and most of the time I couldn’t really worked togother with my group, and it made me so said, but I was with them, I tried to help for them, and I could see what are they doing, and I could learn from this situation as well. In EuroClass I learned more tolernace, more persistence, and to know volition, and I had learned here already, that it is very important to tell about your own feeling for others, about your problems, experiences, because usually you can help yourself so with this way.
This school and the people from EuroClass are going to miss very much for me.

Before I came to EuroClass I had no idea what to expect, because I’m not a member of any organisation and don’t have experience in youth work. After EuroClass now I have a clue what is all about.
I enjoyed being here, meet different people with diverse cultures and opinions in different things and got a lot of good friends. Sometimes it was not so easy to discuss things in the class but in the end we found out each others personality and way of thinking and everything became easier.

Euroclass for me was the second gap year that I took after finishing school. I chose it because I am curious and enjoying it to meet and be with people from all over the world. But Euroclass is part of Silkeborg Højskole and therefore should be seen as that. It was a big challenge for me to be surrounded by people all over the day, get out of my comfort zone into the unknown and to find the right balance between time for myself and time to socialize. My horizon and knowledge regarding Eastern European countries and people from there was broadened tremendously in these past 9 months. Finally I’ve reached the point where I know what I want to study and that I want to study, Euroclass and my year here in Denmark had definitely their part in that!
Jurga - Lithuania
Being a part of Euro Class gave me lots of new experiences. I would not say that it gave me more theoretical knowledge, even in the beginning I expected that. I learned much more important things about working in a group, trying to find a common decision and most important thing - tolerance. In a group with twenty different people tolerance and ability to listen are definitely necessary. In my opinion, it is the biggest challenge.

In Euroclass I have learned that your way of doing things and your opinion is not always the only right one. It`s interesting to underestand and hear about other people opinions, methods and thoughts.
There`s a lot of fun being in the small classroom with so many nationalities to see the ways how people react to different things and hear about cultural differences. That small classroom also gives you close friends all over the world that makes the experience in Euroclass complete :)
Emil - Denmark
In EuroClass I gained strong friendships across Europe. It has been an amazing eye opener to get to know people from different cultural backgrounds than my own. Often I discovered very interesting differences in ways of thinking. It has given me useful experiences when it comes to traveling, meeting foreigners and being with people in general.
Laurens - Netherlands
When coming to EuroClass I had little idea from what it exactly was and even less about the Højskole. For me it was good to head into it open minded and take it as it comes. These 9 months showed me more about myself then I found out in the 5 years before.
Kristina - Lithuania
Before I came here I didn't really expect anything. I just had a hope to have nice time far from my home. But now I can say - that was the best time of my life. And it's not about learning. Every person has a possibility to learn something new everyday. It's about living, sharing and being humble. Euroclass and in general-life in hojskole is nice chance to learn how different we are, and how these differences can help to develop yourself and become a really open minded person. Euroclass for me was the best place to celebrate my life!
